The Louisville football team has officially wrapped its 2025 football season, as the Cardinals defeated the Toledo Rockets in the Boca Raton Bowl 27-22. It was a hard-fought battle, especially in an explosive 4th quarter, that brought Louisville's final record to 9-4, matching the record set forth by last year’s team as well. It puts the finishing touch on a season that had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, from defeating the No. 2 Miami Hurricanes on the road and becoming the No. 15 team in the College Football Playoff rankings mid-season to going on a 3-game losing streak that dissolves any chance of Louisville reaching their preseason goals.
Although the season did not yield the results the team, coaches, or fans wanted, it was one with plenty of memorable moments and a stepping stone toward hopefully an improvement next season. As long as contract negotiations with the coach go as anticipated, Louisville will once again be in a position to compete for the ACC Championship and fight for a spot in next year’s CFP. It's the next step many fans hope Brohm and the Louisville Cardinals can take. However, before those dreams can be realized, Brohm and company have a tall task, retaining and building a roster capable of taking the team to such heights.
Here are 3 players predicted to stay at Louisville and 3 predicted to enter the transfer portal.
