Staying: Clev Lubin, DE

Let’s first state that this prediction assumes Clev Lubin does not enter the NFL draft and instead returns to college to continue improving his draft stock. Junior defensive end Clev Lubin came into this season as a member of the position group that had the most questions and the least answers in the preseason. Fans knew there was experience at this location, but little did anyone know that the defensive line would be the by far greatest strength of the Louisville football team. Game after game, this group dominated the line of scrimmage and kept Louisville in many close and intense games.

Lubin was the star and anchor of the defensive line all season. He finished the season with an astonishing 31 solo tackles, seven sacks, and one forced fumble. In every game where Louisville needed a big play or a sack to stay in the game, Clev Lubin was the guy who stepped up and did his part. He was also the leader of the defensive line, which continually followed his example and did the same. Louisville's retention priorities, especially for the defense, need to focus on No. 50 for the Cards.
