What a calendar year 2025 has been for the Louisville Cardinals. Although some disappointments were thrown into the mix, including an absolutely shameful showing by the NCAA tournament selection committee, the Cardinals put themselves back on the map as a perennial contender for the ACC championship.
Louisville basketball fans are back to being one of the most raucous groups in the country, a feat that was stolen from them by the two disastrous, downright embarrassing seasons under Kenny Payne at the helm. Yes, happy days are here once again in Louisville, Kentucky.
As the year comes to a close, it's always fun to look back on the year that was and highlight some of the moments that made the year absolutely special. In 2025, the Cardinal basketball team had many nominees, as they found their footing and restored their rightful place as one of college basketball’s major players. The end of last season and the beginning of this season have given Cardinals fans much to cheer and be excited about.
