Louisville football finished their 2024 season 9-4 and secured their third consecutive season with eight wins or more.
The Cardinals were led by quarterback Tyler Shough, who threw for over 3,100 yards, and had 23 touchdowns on just six interceptions. Shough had the 24th best QBR in the nation at 75.0 and led this Cardinals offense to be one of the more elite offenses in the nation.
UofL had a total of 5,840 yards in their season, which was top 20 in the nation, and averaged 450 total yards per game, 264 yards through the air and 36.5 points per game.
Louisville football averaging 36.5 points per game comes in ranked No. 9 in the country, and was the only team in the nation to score 24 points or more. Tyler Shough played in the Senior Bowl over the weekend and put the whole nation on notice of his pro-football potential.
Tyler Shough boosts draft stock
Tyler Shough competed for the National team in the Reese's Senior bowl and had an impressive 6-of-13 passing with a beautiful thrown touchdown to Da'Quan Felton to give the National team the lead.
Shough is ranked in the top 10 for quarterbacks entering the draft and is predicted to be selected in the fourth round. Shough put the nation on notice this past weekend and raised his draft stock tremendously.
Louis Reddick tweeted that Tyler Shough is being "overlooked" and a fit with the Rams and Sean McVay would be a match made in heaven.
"He is being overlooked." Reddic tweeted. "But he won’t be anymore. As I said on TV today…if he can play in a system/for a coach like McVay at the , he has starting ability in the league.
Shough was one of the main quarterbacks that stood out during Senior Bowl prep and then his showing in the game showed NFL scouts what he is capable of, and that maybe this QB draft class isn't as weak as they thought. Shough demonstrated his accuracy and red-zone ability as his touchdown pass nearly went viral, and was one of the best balls of the day.
The Senior Bowl isn't going to make or break Tyler Shough NFL career and where he is selected on draft day. However, it seemed the former Louisville quarterback took a step in the right direction and his draft stock is higher than it was prior.
