Louisville football received crushing news on Friday afternoon as one of Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow's hidden gems announced he would decommit and flip his commitment to USF. Benjamin Corhei was a big-time grab for the Cardinals as he was one of Kentucky's top recruits while Marrow was still with the Wildcats.

After Corhei visited the Cardinals back on June 15, just days after Marrow signed with Louisville, he announced a verbal commitment. Well, that verbal commitment was short-lived, as just two weeks later, he will take his talents to South Florida.

While Corhei isn't the highest-ranked recruit in the 2026 class, it was a big-time grab for the Cardinals, especially since he was high up on the Wildcats' boards. Kentucky was given a 100 percent chance of landing the 3-star prospect by Rivals, and On3 Sports gave Kentucky a 42.9 percent chance. It was clear he was all in on Kentucky, but after the news broke that Louisville had stolen Marrow from Kentucky, they quickly stoked Corhei as well.

The 6-foot-5, 270-pound linemen earned over 27 offers, including many from big-time programs like Arkansas, Florida State, Indiana, Miami, Pittsburgh, Tulane, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and many more.

He was ranked as high as No. 949 in the nation and No. 55 in the offensive lineman position at the time of his commitment to Louisville. Corhei represents the sixth recruit to decommit from Louisville, making the Cardinals' recruiting class drop to No. 32 in the nation. 18 commitments in the 2026 cycle now represent the Cardinals.
