The Louisville football team is finally set to kick off its season against Eastern Kentucky this Saturday, August 30, as the two schools will go head-to-head. The Cardinals open as dominant favorites over the Colonels, currently -38.5 point favorites at L&N Stadium.
The Cardinals are confident they will get a win from L&N Stadium Saturday afternoon, and a glaring reason why is 4-star transfer Miller Moss. The USC transfer quarterback is a fifth-year senior who will make his debut for the Cardinals this weekend.
Moss started in eight games last season for USC, displaying both positive and negative results. The Cardinals' starting quarterback will now look to transition to Jeff Brohm's offense and start this new chapter of his off with a bang, and on Saturday, Moss will absolutely light the Colonels' defense up.

Miller Moss and Louisville football will dominate Eastern Kentucky Week 1
Last season, Moss threw for 2,555 yards on a 65 percent completion percentage. He also added 18 passing touchdowns and showed his ability to drop darts all over the field in multiple games. However, Moss's best game of the season last year came in the first game of the season.
Moss went on to throw for 378 yards and one touchdown while completing 75 percent of his throws against a top-15 LSU Tigers team. Moss showed calmness and his whole arm strength that game, leading his once-Trojans to a victory over the No. 13-ranked team in the nation.
Now, Moss is going up against the same FBS school that lost to a 2-10 Mississippi State team last year to start the season. Mississippi State went on to beat Eastern Kentucky 56-7 last year, and the Bulldogs' starting quarterback went 15-of-20 with 247 passing yards and three passing touchdowns, while also rushing for 44 yards and a touchdown.
It wouldn't be surprising if Louisville drops 60 points or more, like they did against Austin Peay last year, to start the season. Louisville won 62-0, and Tyler Shough made his Louisville debut and threw for 232 yards and four touchdowns. The year before, Jack Plummer (another transfer QB) threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns and led Louisville to a tight victory over Georgia Tech.
This is Brohm's third straight transfer quarterback starting game one of the season, and the previous two threw over 240 yards with three touchdowns and got the win. History tells Louisville fans that Moss is going to dominate Eastern Kentucky, and he will leave a great first impression.
Brohm will run an offense that sets Moss up on a hot start for the season to get his confidence high. The Cardinals' wide receivers and Moss must gain chemistry, and Eastern Kentucky will just be their first victim. While the offensive line certainly has questions, the Cardinals' line will likely dominate the trenches against the weaker opponent, and Moss will have a field day in the first game of the 2025 season.
Louisville is fired up for the season to start, and a dominant win will not only get Louisville to 1-0 on the season but will also give this team the confidence it needs heading into Week 2 against James Madison.
