Louisville football looks to keep their winning streak moving forward on the road in Nashville against in-state foe Western Kentucky. We have three locks and three bold predictions for week three.

Louisville football will travel away from home for the first time this season on Saturday as they face off with in-state foe, in nearby Nashville, Tennesee.

As you may recall, the last time before this past Saturday that the Cards won a live football game, it was September 15th inside of Cardinal Stadium against Western Kentucky. Despite being down by as many as 14, the Cards showed fight for possibly the last time in the Bobby Petrino and things quickly toppled.

Things are a complete 180 from that point, and the new-look program under Scott Satterfield will try to string together their second win of the season and their third straight productive game. So far there’s been no reason to worry about another 2-10 season or the Cards struggling to find wins.

While it’s only been two games, Louisville has shown flashes of brilliance on both sides of the ball. Defensively, they pitched out a shutout against a good Eastern Kentucky who was coming off of a 51-point explosion in their season debut, while giving no. 9 Notre Dame all they could handle in the season opener.

We’ve seen a dominant run game, one that currently ranks ninth in the country overall, and signs of an offense able to move the ball both on the ground in chunks and with big plays all over the field. While Jawon Pass has yet to show big leaps of improvement in the passing game, especially with deep balls, we have seen a much-improved decision-maker in the run, pass, option offense, something Scott Satterfield is pleased to see.

Western Kentucky will present another great opportunity for a young team looking to get their footing and confidence beneath them as they head into the ACC for the first time under Scott Satterfield.

The Tops have struggled this season under first-year head coach Tyson Helton, dropping their season opener to FCS foe Central Arkansas, and barely sneaking out a win against FIU last weekend.

In a transition year, it could be a long night for Western Kentucky even with thousands of fans likely in attendance. We take our first look at the matchup between the Cards and Hilltoppers, giving you three locks and three bold predictions.
