Louisville and Jeff Brohm are looking to secure their fourth straight win this weekend, as the Cardinals are currently on a 3-game win streak. Brohm and Louisville have had a roller coaster of a season so far. They started 0-1, then won two straight, then lost two straight, and have now won three straight.
Louisville’s ACC title hopes face a major uphill battle entering November
UofL will now try to improve to 6-3 in the season and 5-3 in conference play as the Cards face Georgia Tech on Saturday, Nov. 7. Louisville is currently 1-1 in true road games, with Louisville winning in Week 7 on the road against Syracuse, and the Cardinals falling on the road to North Carolina State in Week 5.
Louisville enters this road game against the Yellow Jackets as dominant favorites. The Cardinals are a two-touchdown favorite, and with these favorable odds, we are excited to make some bold predictions for this Week 10 showdown. So, here are three bold predictions for Louisville vs. Georgia Tech.
3. Lincoln Kienholz rushes for 2+ TD's
Lincoln Kienholz has been impressive in his first year as a starter, as the Ohio State transfer ranks No. 18 in FBS with 2,094 passing yards and has thrown only three interceptions. He continues to lead this Cardinals offense, which ranks 6th in points per game, and a big reason is his ability not only to pass but also to rush.
Kienholz is an elite dual-threat QB for Louisville, and he often finds the end zone with his legs. In the Cardinals' eight games, he has scored 11 rushing touchdowns, including four games in which he scored two rushing touchdowns. We predict Kienholz will find the end zone with his legs at least twice on Saturday and rush for at least 50 yards. In Louisville’s last three wins, Kienholz has stepped up his rushing game, scoring two touchdowns against Florida State and Syracuse, and last week against Stanford, he rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown.
2. Isaac Brown rushes for 130+
One of the Cardinals' biggest strengths is their star running back, Isaac Brown. The preseason All-American has hit the next level in the past four games, rushing for 510 yards and seven touchdowns. Now, Brown faces one of the worst rushing defenses in the FBS, and we think he is about to deliver another special Isaac Brown performance.
We predict Brown to rush for at least 130 yards on Saturday and to average over 10.0 yards per carry. Brown leads Louisville in rushing yards with 707, including 139 yards last week in their win over Syracuse. We think he will secure 130 yards or more in his second straight week, and his third in his last four games.
1. Tre Richardson has another huge game
Based on the report from earlier this week, it sounds like Lawayne McCoy will be out for his second straight week. The Florida State transfer is dealing with a knee injury, and reports say he will miss an “extended period of time.” With McCoy potentially out tomorrow against Georgia Tech, we think Louisville’s other star wide receiver, Tre Richardson, is due for another big game.
Richardson has been a huge piece of Brohm’s explosive offense, leading Louisville in receiving yards with 633. He leads the team with 40 catches and two touchdowns, and he is coming off his best game as a Cardinal. Last week against Stanford, Richardson earned a season-high 10 catches for another season-high 140 receiving yards. We think he'll carry that into this week and deliver another huge performance. We predict Richardson will earn at least 100 receiving yards for the third time this year and find the end zone once.
