Louisville football has had one of the best offseasons in the nation, as Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow have landed 26 commitments so far and have only lost 28 players to the portal. The Cardinals have been able to keep elite players like Isaac Brown and AJ Green while landing transfers who will make an immediate impact, like Iowa safety Koen Entringer.
However, one of the biggest additions so far this offseason is Vanderbilt transfer Tre Richardson. The Vandy commit pledged to Louisville on January 9 and has remained solid with his commitment to the Cardinals and hasn’t shown any signs of wanting to leave, despite flip rumors and plenty of pressure from other programs and their fans.
Well, with rumors surfacing about Richardson potentially opening up to the idea of flipping, he took matters into his own hands and quickly shut those rumors down in his latest post.

Louisville's Tre Richardson quickly shuts down flip rumors
Richardson quickly silenced any rumor that surfaced that he was thinking about flipping after he posted on social media and included,”#Notflipping” and “#Committed”.

Now, just a day later, Louisville fans saw that he had officially signed the paperwork, and an official announcement confirmed his commitment.
Kentucky fans were among the programs trying to recruit Richardson to Lexington after Will Stein whiffed on DeAndre Moore Jr., who committed to Colorado. Quickly after, smoke began to rise about Richardson, possibly flipping, but the future Cardinal shut that rumor down and even began chirping Kentucky fans in his comment section, stating, “I scored 3 tds on y'all lol,” to a Kentucky fan.
The Vandy transfer had one of the best seasons in the SEC last year, took the massive jump from Division II football to the SEC, and showed no signs of slowing down. Now, he is committed to Louisville as their top transfer portal recruit and is expected to be Lincoln Kienholz at WR1 in 2026.
Last season, he led Vanderbilt with 806 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns on 46 receptions. He committed to Louisville, ranked No. 53 in the Transfer Portal, and was ranked No. 12 among wide receivers.
Louisville football fans already saw one wide receiver transfer, Hardley Gilmore IV, flip his commitment from Louisville to Baylor. The Kentucky transfer committed to Louisville on January 8, but flipped his commitment on January 12, shortly after Baylor landed DJ Lagway. So, to hear Louisville’s No. 1 wide receiver commitment announce he isn’t flipping is a big sigh of relief for Louisville fans.
