All eyes are on one college basketball player right now in the Transfer Portal, and that is the Iowa State transfer Milan Momcilovic. The 5-star transfer ranks as high as No. 2 overall in the portal and No. 1 among power forwards, and right now, Louisville basketball is trending as a team with a legitimate chance of landing him, if he returns to college basketball.

Jeff Goodman gives Louisville basketball fans a massive Milan Momcilovic update

Momcilovic entered his name in the NBA Draft process, and the 5-star made it clear his dream is to declare for the draft this year. However, Jeff Goodman made it clear he doesn’t think Momcilovic will stay in the draft and will return to college basketball. Now, CBS Sports reporter Isaac Trotter has emphasized that and predicted the 5-star will return to college basketball, giving Louisville fans even more hope that Pat Kelsey can bring in Milan Momcilovic.

The Cardinals need one more true power forward on their depth chart for depth, and the fans have made it clear they want a true 3-point specialist. Well, Momcilovic is a two-in-one package deal as he was the best 3-point shooter this past season with the Cyclones, and now, as the deadline inches closer, more and more college basketball reporters predict the 5-star to return.

Not only is Trotter predicting Momcilovic's return, but he also brings up Louisville as a team with a real chance.

"And then there is Louisville, which is clearly trying to build as good a team as possible, money be damned. The Cardinals have landed two top-20 transfers (Oregon's Jackson Shelstad and Kansas' Flory Bidunga), two top-70 transfers (Iowa's Alvaro Folgueiras and Arkansas' Karter Knox). They are also bringing in five-star freshman Obinna Ekezie Jr. and retained Adrian Wooley, who is an easy breakout candidate.

And yet, Pat Kelsey is still pushing for Momcilovic."

Goodman gave the Cards fans a huge update earlier this week when he stated that Louisville is one of two favorites for the 5-star recruit, with the other team being St. John’s, not Kentucky. Louisville has already landed two 5-stars this offseason in Obinna Ekezie Jr. and Flory Bidunga, and Momcilovic would certainly make this start to feel like a National Title favorite team.

Kelsey has added six players from the portal, and Momcilovic would be the piece that would make Louisville fans believe a Final Four and National Title drought could end. The Iowa State transfer has until May 27 to decide, as on that day he will either have to withdraw his name from the draft or officially declare, after which he will be ineligible to return.

So, May 27 is a crucial day for Louisville fans to remember. For now, it seems like it is a three-team battle as Kentucky, St. John’s, and the Cardinals are the early favorites, but if he officially returns, more teams will likely try to join in the heated recruiting battle.
