Louisville basketball’s 2027 big board recruit list continues to grow as the Cardinals are extending offers to some of the best recruits in the nation. This weekend, Louisville extended an offer to a top 15 recruit in the nation, a 4-star small forward, Asa Montgomery.
Pat Kelsey is going big with this 2027 recruiting class, targeting the best players in the country, and that is shown by his busy summer. Kelsey has quickly put Louisville on these elite high school recruits' radar, and a big reason is how Mikel Brown Jr. came in and quickly developed into a top-six overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Elite recruits have quickly taken notice of how Brown played and developed under Kelsey, and now the dominoes might begin to fall Louisville’s way. One of the top recruits in the class, Moussa Kamissoko, revealed he watched a lot of Louisville basketball this past season, and he respected how Kelsey coached the future NBA lottery pick.

Kamissoko is one of the top-rated recruits in the 2027 recruiting class and is highly recruited. Louisville is one of those teams trying to gain some ground with the elite 5-star, and it was recently reported that Kelsey is turning up the heat and trying to get the 5-star on campus for an official visit.
"Pat Kelsey calls me three or four times a week," stated Kamissoko, according to CardinalAuthority. "We just catch up. He asks me how my day is. We have been talking about visits, but we're trying to get it right."
The 5-star recruit stating Louisville is calling up to three or four times a week is showing the Cardinals fans just how badly Kelsey wants this elite 5-star. Kamissoko has earned over 20 offers so far, including from big-time programs like Kentucky, Illinois, Alabama, BYU, North Carolina State, Virginia and others.
The 5-star forward also gave praise to Kelsey and how he utilized Brown this past season, and explained he wants to play in a similar role.
"I watched a lot of Louisville last year with Mikel Brown Jr., and they let him rock," stated the 5-star forward, according to CardinalAuthority. "I want to step into that role as well."
The 6-foot-8, 180-pound forward ranks as high as No. 7 overall, No. 2 among small forwards, and No. 1 among recruits from New York. Louisville is really making a strong push with the 5-star small forward, and from these quotes, hopefully the Cardinals land an official visit from Kamissoko sooner rather than later.
