Louisville football is hosting the Virginia Cavaliers this afternoon in a massive ACC showdown. The ACC race is wide open, and there are two crucial games that have huge implications on the standings and the race.

Florida State hosts the Miami Hurricanes, and the Cardinals will look to remain undefeated and put the nation on notice. Louisville is 4-0 and is one of just two Power Four teams to remain undefeated but not ranked. The Cardinals and Cavaliers are in a massive game for Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals' season.

So, with Louisville eyeing the ACC Title, and with their first big-time game just hours away, ESPN's College Football Gameday made some picks on the game, and the Louisville fans should feel confident.

ESPN College Gameday makes Louisville vs Virginia gameday picks

With both teams coming off an emotional win, the ESPN College Gameday crew favored the Louisville Cardinals. Hall of Famer and Alabama legend Nick Saban, Heisman winner Desmond Howard, and Pat McAfee all picked the Cardinals, while Kirk Herbstreit picked the Cavaliers.

It was a quick pick for the crew as Reece Davis was wrapping up the picks at the end of the show to set up the nighttime games, so not many words were said about the game. But the fans get a little boost as the majority voted for Louisville.

McAfee noted last week how "big" of the game this is for the ACC and the Cardinals, and whether college football fans like him or not, he has been excellent at making picks this season.

While it makes it seem like the votes were 3-2, Theo Von's pick doesn't mean much to the Cardinals fans. The vote is 3-1 in favor of Louisville, suggesting that the Cardinals' ACC Title hopes could skyrocket after today.

The Cardinals go into the game favored by 6.5 points as the line dropped one point from the opening line. Louisville and Virginia will kick off from L&N Stadium this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. local time.
