Former Louisville basketball star guard Chucky Hepburn has officially inked a two-way deal with the Toronto Raptors. This comes after his lone season with the Louisville Cardinals after transferring from Wisconsin to play under Pat Kelsey.

While Hepburn wasn't drafted in the 2025 NBA Draft, he has extremely high potential with the Raptors, as the former Cardinals star emerges as the Raptors' hidden gem. Toronto fans wanted GM Bobby Webster to go after elite defenders, and with Hepburn, they get not only the 2024-25 ACC Defensive Player of the Year but also an elite playmaker on top of that.

Hepburn spent his first three seasons with the Wisconsin Badgers, but his undeniable best year came last season when he played for the Louisville Cardinals. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 16.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 2.4 steals per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from downtown.

He earned First Team All-ACC, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and was an All-American honorable mention.

Hepburn is an elite playmaker who can control the pace of the game, but also can take over when needed. Last season for Louisville, he scored 20 points or more seven times, and 30 points or more twice. His 37-point performance against Pitt marked a career high, and it came thrillingly as Hepburn took over the game in the first half, splashing six consecutive 3-pointers to end the first half.

His defense is what he is known for, though. Last season, he earned three steals or more in 14 games, five steals or more in five games, six steals in three games, and seven steals in one game.

Hepburn will join RaptorsĀ first-round pickĀ Collin Murray-Boyles and second-round pickĀ Alijah Martin in Las Vegas for the Summer League, which will start July 11.
