There is no question about it that when NFL fans and college football fans hear the name Louisville, they immediately think of quarterback sensation Lamar Jackson. The former Heisman winner is one of the best football players to ever play for this University, and his resume and track record in the NFL continue to prove that.
Jackson was blatantly robbed of the MVP last season as Bills quarterback Josh Allen won the award despite Jackson having more passing yards, more passing TDs, fewer interceptions, a higher completion percentage, and more rushing yards. Well, the NFL puts out its top 100 players leading up to the NFL season every year, and Jackson's ranking proves he was robbed of MVP and sits right where he belongs.

Lamar Jackson ranked No. 2 entering 2025 season
The former Louisville football star enters the 2025 season ranked No. 2 in the NFL, one spot above the 2024 MVP. Jackson's stats speak for themselves, and he has proven time and time again that he is the best quarterback in the league and one of the best players in the league.
2 legit.

The only player ranked above Jackson is Super Bowl champion Saquon Barkley, and whether that should be the case is up for discussion as well. However, the glorious silver lining here is that Jackson's 2024 season clearly was better than Allen's (check the stats), and with the Ravens being ranked ahead of Allen, it just proves he should have won MVP.
Jackson was the first quarterback to earn the first-team All-Pro quarterback spot and not win the MVP award. Last year, Jackson threw 4,172 yards passing, 41 touchdowns, and just four interceptions, and had a quarterback rating of 119.6.
The former Louisville legend is a four-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All-Pro, and a two-time MVP. He will now start his revenge season Sunday, September 7, against none other but the 2024 MVP himself and the Buffalo Bills.
