Social media and NFL fans seem to be shocked and distraught by the MVP voting, and erupted all over social media, including former NFL players, and football analysts.
Louisville football 2016 Heisman trophy winner, Lamar Jackson, was up for his third Most Valuable Player award for the 2024-2025 season, but fell just short.
Lamar Jackson had more passing yards, more passing touchdowns, fewer interceptions, a higher completion percentage, more rushing yards, and a higher rushing average than Josh Allen.
Lamar Jackson finished sixth in the NFL for total passing yards with 4,172 passing yards. He averaged 245.5 passing yards per game, and had 41 passing touchdowns in the regular season, which ranks second among the league. He finished with 45 total passing touchdowns, including the playoffs, and finished with just four interceptions.
Jackson's 4,000 passing yards, 40 passing touchdowns and four interceptions is the first time those numbers have been accomplished in NFL history. Lamar Jackson finished first in passing rating at 119.6 and tied for first in QBR with an average of 77.5 per game.
Social media erupts after Louisville legend Lamar Jackson blatantly robbed of MVP
Jackson etched his name in the NFL history books, as he is now the first player in NFL history to throw for over 4, 000 yards and to rush for over 900 yards in the same season. Lamar Jackson would then move on to be the NFL leading rusher for quarterbacks in NFL history, breaking Michael Vick's rushing yards record. Lamar Jackson has a career 6,173 rushing yards in his seven year career.
Former NFL players, football analysts, and fans did not hesitate to go to X, and erupt their opinions and rant about the MVP robbery.
Lamar Jackson is the first player in NFL history to have:

more passing yards
more passing TDs
fewer interceptions
a higher completion pct
more rushing yards
a higher rushing average
...than the MVP that season. pic.twitter.com/O7pBNMLuyH
I'd like to start a petition to remove Jim Miller's MVP voting privileges.

Choosing Josh over Lamar, crazy but understandable.
Having Lamar Jackson at 4th place....CRIMINAL!
Lamar Jackson’s 2024 season:
— Sarah Ellison (@sgellison) February 7, 2025
• First QB ever to throw for 4,000+ yards and rush for 900+ yards
• First QB ever to have 40+ pass TD and fewer than 5 INT
• 119.6 passer rating, 4th best in NFL history
This historic season resulted in nothing at NFL Honors. No MVP. No OPOY.…
LAMAR JACKSON HAD ONE OF THE GREATEST SEASONS EVER AND DID NOT WIN ANY AWARD.

Lamar Jackson is the first QB in 11 seasons to be named 1st Team All-Pro and NOT win the MVP.

Ja'Marr…
If stats are most important, Lamar Jackson is the MVP.

If wins are most important, Patrick Mahomes is the MVP.
If feeling bad that somebody has never won an award before is most important, Josh Allen is the MVP.
It is safe to say social media is losing its mind after the MVP was released last night. Jackson lost to Josh Allen by 19 votes.
"It seems kind of foolish to be like, MVP, valuable means something different. No, man. I think Lamar Jackson is first team All-Quarterback, and is the MVP." Former NFL cornerback, and current Get UP analyst, Domonique Foxwort, stated.
Lamar Jackson led this Baltimore Ravens offense to a historic season as they are the first team in legue history to throw for 4,000 yards or more, and also rush for 3,000 yards or more.
No one is discrediting Josh Allen tremendous season, players, fans and analysts are just furious that NFL voting system may need to fix something. Jackson's historic season has now gone to waste and social media is letting the NFL know.
