Louisville football fans are all-in on the Cardinals' 2026 recruiting class, including one of their top commitment, Briggs Cherry. The 4-star quarterback had one of the best offseasons in the 2026 class, as he saw his recruiting ranking skyrocket.

Cherry currently attends Baylor High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he will graduate this upcoming spring. He is playing in his last high school football season, and with Louisville fans all-in on him, Cherry just proved in one play that he will have a chance to start for the Cardinals at one point, and he is going to be an excellent quarterback.

4-star QB Briggs Cherry commit drops a dime

This offseason, Cherry saw his rankings skyrocket after he competed in the Elite 11 events. The once 3-star recruit jumped many ranks in the rankings, becoming a 4-star and now ranks as high as No. 277 in the nation.

One of the clear reasons why recruiting outlets are so high on Cherry now is because of his incredible arm. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound quarterback won best arm at the Elite 11 Finals event, and this Friday night, he proved why.

The future quarterback for Louisville is seen rolling to his left, and then slows down and quickly dodges the defensive linemen rushing him, stops on a dime, and throws a beautiful 40-yard bomb right in the receiver's hands.

The Cardinals are high on this 4-star quarterback, and he is showing why in his senior year already. After gaining so much hype this offseason, he had elite programs like Ohio State calling him, but Cherry recently stayed loyal and ended his recruitment, meaning he will enroll at the University of Louisville this fall.

Last season, he threw for 2,718 yards and 31 touchdowns on a 69% completion percentage, and this season, he is showing he isn't going to slow down. Cherry's 40-yard throw on the move was exactly what Louisville fans wanted to see from him this senior season, and now the Cardinals fans truly believe he will have an opportunity to start for Jeff Brohm one day for the Louisville Cardinals.
