Louisville football remains one of the most underrated programs in college football. When fans and media think about the ACC, much of the attention goes to Miami and Clemson, with some going to SMU; if any spotlight is left, Louisville gets its time.
The Cardinals are shockingly unranked in the preseason Coaches Poll, and while it will all play itself out, it just proves this team doesn’t really get the praise it deserves. Well, someone who believes Louisville is a dark horse for this year's College Football Playoff and just gave Jeff Brohm the high praise he deserves is ESPN analyst Greg McElroy.

McElroy is a well-known college football reporter, insider, and ESPN announcer. He recently stated he believes the Cardinals are a clear College Football Playoff contender “hiding in plain sight”, and now he just gave Brohm the flowers he deserves.
“Here is why improvements are likely coming,” stated McElroy on Louisville. “Because Jeff Brohm has been one of the most underrated coaches in America for a while. He’s got three straight nine-win seasons at his alma mater. He plugs in a new quarterback every single year and produces the exact same steady product.”
Brohm and Louisville continue to fly under the radar, but McElroy reveals why, because of the Cardinals' head coach, this Louisville squad is likely going to improve this upcoming season. Brohm has won at least nine games in all three years at Louisville; he has beaten notable teams like Notre Dame, Clemson, and at No. 2 Miami this past season, and he has reached the ACC Championship game.
McElroy touches on the Cardinals' head coach's ability to recruit and develop quarterbacks from the Transfer Portal. Brohm’s starting quarterback has come from the Transfer Portal in all four years since he became Louisville’s head coach, and each year Brohm’s quarterback continues to produce.
This year, Louisville secured 4-star Ohio State transfer Lincoln Kienholz, and while he has thrown only 36 passes in his college football career, many believe he has high potential.
The Cardinals have a real chance to improve this upcoming season, and McElroy just made that clear. Louisville fans believe the Cardinals could be a double-digit-win team; they just need to stay consistent and not lose the close games they should win, like they did last year against Clemson and Cal.
Brohm has consistently built this program in the right direction, and now it is time for the Cardinals to take it to that next level and go on a CFP run.
