Louisville football recently landed its 16th commitment in the 2027 recruiting class. The Cardinals' most recent commitment was another in-state one for Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow, as they landed the two-way athlete Darrian Tomlin.

Tomlin is a linebacker and running back for Woodford County High School, as the 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker secured 19 tackles and 4.5 for loss while rushing for 1,550 yards and 19 touchdowns.

The 'Cards' 2027 recruiting class has been turning heads nationwide through the first six months, remaining inside the top 25. Brohm and Marrow are looking to put this recruiting class in the history books, as only two classes in program history have been ranked in the top 25 after signing day.

Louisville football’s top-25 recruiting class has history within reach

Brohm has continued to improve this program since he arrived, and a major factor has been recruiting. Brohm landed the No. 5 Transfer Portal class in the nation, and now he is trying to carry that momentum into high school football recruiting as he tries to earn just the third top-25 recruiting class in program history, or maybe the highest in program history.

247Sports just updated their rankings, and Louisville fans quickly noticed the Cards round out the top 25 at No. 25, which puts them in a good position for Brohm and the Cardinals to make history.

Louisville has earned five 4-star commitments so far, with three from Kentucky and two from Ohio. The Cards have shown a lot of interest in the two states through the early months of the recruiting class, as of the 16 commitments, 10 of them come from either Kentucky or Ohio.

Now, Brohm and Marro are going to try to make history and keep this class inside the top 25 for just the third time in program history. Louisville and Brohm have a chance to make history with this class in the first six months, as the highest-rated class after signing day was back in 2006, when it ranked No. 24 in the nation.

Which means right now Louisville is just one spot behind the program's best recruiting ranking in program history, and if Brohm and Marrow can get hot like it did in the early months and climb up the rankings, all they need to do is rank No. 23 or higher, and they would secure the highest-rated recruiting class in program history. The only other time Louisville had a class ranked in the top 25 was in 2023, when it ranked No. 25.

Louisville has had a couple of major recruiting weekends, which were key reasons in 4-star AJ Tillman Jr.'s commitment, and this past weekend the Cards hosted notable recruits like 4-star Theo Wilson and 3-star in-state QB Dre’mail Carothers.

So, Louisville fans, keep your eyes open, because if Brohm and Marrow want to make history, it will be a busy next couple of months for this 2027 recruiting class, and hopefully they find a way to remain inside the top 25 for just the third time in program history.
