If Jeff Brohm and Louisville football want some extra motivation, CBS Sports might have just given it to them. The Cardinals take on Ole Miss this Sunday in a huge Week 1 showdown, the only rank-vs.- rank matchup in the first weekend of college football.

With this game getting a lot of hype and Sunday quickly approaching, college football analysts are beginning to make their official picks. Yesterday, CBS Sports made its picks for this weekend, and the Cardinals still face doubts in this massive game.

Louisville football gets extra motivation after CBS Sports picks

CBS Sports had Brian Kelly, Aaron Taylor, Rick Neuheisel, and Brian Jones make their picks, and when it came down to it, it was a clean sweep in favor of the Rebels.

The Cardinals are currently 6.5-point underdogs in this Week 1 matchup. Seeing all analysts pick the Rebels isn’t a huge surprise to Louisville and their fans, but now the Cardinals are excited to go out and prove the doubters wrong.

Brohm has proven time and time again that he is a giant killer, and even CBS Sports analyst Brian Jones talked about the Cardinals' head coach's ability to upset big-time opponents.

“You know what else Brohm is? He is a slay-the-giant whisperer,” stated Jones on Brohm. “It seems like he is always knocking off a highly ranked opponent.”

The big one everyone talks about is when Brohm was at Purdue, and the Boilermakers dominated No. 2 Ohio State, 49-20, in 2018. Now, he's earned the respect of being known as the giant killer since he joined Louisville; he's upset No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 11 Clemson, and, just this past season, No. 2 Miami on the road, which was the same Miami team that beat Trinidad Chambliss and Ole Miss in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

Now, Louisville will look to send a massive message in Week 1 and upset yet another top-15 team under Brohm. They have an elite running back duo in Keyjuan Brown and Isaac Brown, preseason All-American edge rusher Clev Lubin, and a top-five transfer portal class, including 4-star transfer and Brohm’s new QB1 from Ohio State, Lincoln Kienholz.

The Cardinals have heard all offseason that they are the underdogs in this game and Ole Miss will pull off the win. Now, Brohm and the Cardinals will look to prove everyone wrong. These Cardinals have shocked the nation three straight years with three huge wins; now they will look to make it four on Sunday night.
