Jeff Brohm continues loading up on offensive line talent with new 3-star commit

With Vince Marrow on the staff, Louisville is trending in the right direction on the recruiting trail with the addition of Charlie Edgeworth.

Louisville suffered a few tough recruiting losses with four-star de-commitments to start June, but since prying Vince Marrow away from Kentucky to become Louisville’s executive director of player personnel and recruiting, Marrow and Jeff Brohm have built momentum. That momentum continued on Monday with the commitment of three-star offensive lineman Charlie Edgeworth.

The 6-foot-7, 325-pound Chattanooga, Tennessee, product is a top 100 offensive tackle in the country according to 247Sports Composite rankings and chose the Cardinals over the Kentucky Wildcats. Edgeworth’s only two official visits were to Louisville and Lexington before becoming the 18th member of the 2026 Louisville class.

3-star Charlie Edgeworth announces commitment to Louisville

Edgworth’s commitment comes a day after fellow three-star and the 78th best tackle in the 2026 class, Benjamin Corhei, joined the fray. With Edgeworth and Corhei, the Cardinals now have five offensive linemen in the 2026 high school class.

Offensive line is one position that Brohm has primarily addressed through the transfer portal since arriving at Louisville, to the point that the third-year head coach is likely to start an O-line entirely constructed of former transfers for 2025. That’s not unheard of in the transfer portal era of college football, but it’s not always the most sustainable way to build a roster.

With his feet finally under him after posting 19 wins across his first two seasons, Brohm may be ready to add more developmental pieces in the trenches with an eye to the future of the program instead of desperately trying to find a way to protect his new transfer quarterback every offseason.

Someday, Edgeworth may be protecting his high school teammate from the Baylor School at Louisville as he joins three-star QB Briggs Cherry in the 2026 class. Cherry committed to the Cardinals in January and is scheduled to arrive on campus for an official visit on June 20. Cherry is Louisville’s only QB commit in this class, as Brohm continues to take one high school QB each year.

Louisville's 2026 class jumped to 24th in the country following the Corhei commitment and could climb even higher with Edgeworth in tow. The Cardinals have the sixth highest ranked class in the ACC behind Clemson, Miami, SMU, Cal, and Pitt, and are only one spot ahead of Stanford.
