It wasn't pretty, and Louisville almost blew a big lead, but the Cardinals were able to come out on top of the Boca Raton Bowl and finish the season at 8-4. Toledo made things interesting late, but the season has ended on a high note for the ACC side.

3 Jeff Brohm replacements Louisville should be thinking about with Michigan rumors flying

However, while fans are going to be celebrating the win, there are also plenty of nerves out there. That's because head coach Jeff Brohm has been heavily linked to the open job at Michigan. The two have reportedly been in contact this week too.

This is the second bowl win with Louisville for Brohm, who also holds a 28-12 record. So, what is he going to do? Will he return to campus and push to help this team compete for an ACC title, or will he be off to the Big Ten to take over at Michigan?

His postgame comments sure make it seem like he has no plans of leaving, as he appears to have already shifted his focus to next season. On top of that, Brohm gave a head-turning response when asked about all of the UM speculation:

Louisville fans are worried sick that Jeff Brohm could be off to Michigan

What Brohm has been able to get done thus far with Louisville has been great, but when Michigan comes calling, it's tough to say no. That's what people are worried about, as the Wolverines appear to have swung and missed on some of their top targets.

For a little while, Kenny Dillingham and Kalen DeBoer were reportedly the top two on the board for Warde Manuel. However, Dillingham has since signed a new deal with Arizona State, while DeBoer has said that he hasn't spoken to other schools and that he has no interest in leaving Alabama.

Where does that leave Michigan? It could lead to the Wolverines opening up their search and going after a coach who is not only well respected across the country, but who's also someone who knows how to turn a program around and get the job done.

Brohm would check off both of those boxes. Within the next week, the expectation is that Michigan is going to figure things out here one way or the other. Maybe Biff Poggi is given the role? Who knows, but what we do know is that Brohm is going to be linked to the job until a final decision is made.
