Louisville football continues to be heavily involved in the 2027 recruiting class as the Cardinals are in a huge recruiting battle for an elite 4-star tight end. Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow continue to turn heads with their 2027 recruiting class, and now they will go up against some more powerhouses as they are one step closer to landing George Lammons Jr.
Louisville football jumps Notre Dame in 2027 recruiting rankings after 4-star commit
Yesterday, Louisville learned they made Lamons' final four, and they will now battle SEC giants, as his recruiting list is down to Auburn, Alabama, Florida, and Louisville. The Cardinals have already beaten out Alabama for their 4-star cornerback Allen Evans, and with Brohm and Marrow trying to compete for a top 10 class in the 2027 cycle, Lamons would be a massive addition to their commitment list.

Louisville football battling SEC giants for elite 4-star TE
Louisville has already landed two tight ends in the 2027 recruiting class, including 3-star Xavier Ratica, who committed just last week, and 4-star tight end D'Angelo White. However, Lamons is ranked higher than both tight ends and would be one of Louisville’s biggest commitments in the 2027 cycle if he were to commit.
The Georgia native ranks as high as a 4-star recruit, No. 223 overall in the 2027 cycle, No. 10 among tight ends, and No. 26 among Georgia natives. He earned over 26 offers, as the Cardinals have already beat out big-time programs like Texas A&M, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, and others.
Louisville is scheduled for an official visit on June 5, while Florida will get a visit on May 28, Auburn on June 12, and Alabama on June 19. Right now, On3 Sports has Auburn as the dominant favorite, with an 86.7 percent chance of earning Lamons' commitment, while the Gators, Crimson Tide, and Cardinals all have under a 5 percent chance.
The Cardinals' 2027 recruiting class is trending to shatter history, as the previous highest-ranked class was No. 23 in 2023, and right now it ranks No. 8. Adding another top 300 recruit would be a huge addition for Louisville, but Auburn is the clear favorite right now, and it will be an uphill battle for Brohm. Right now, Louisville has eight total commitments in the 2027 cycle and four 4-star commitments.
