Jeff Brohm is entering his third season as the Louisville Cardinals head coach, and he is finally starting to get the recognition and high praise he deserves from the national media. The Cardinals have won nine wins or more in two straight seasons under Brohm, and their 2025 roster has the full capability to make it three consecutive seasons and compete for an ACC title.
Louisville football is ranked in ESPN and On3 way too early in the top 25, and a big reason for this is their explosive offense. This dominant offense has lethal weapons on the outside, such as Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy, and now has an excellent quarterback in Miller Moss. However, the best player on this team is the pre-season All-American Isaac Brown.
Brohm's ability to recruit and coach is beginning to be recognized by the media. USA Today recently put out their rankings of the ACC coaches, and the Cardinals head coach is sitting right where he belongs.

Jeff Brohm has Louisville football rising as Clemson’s biggest ACC threat
It should come as no surprise that the No. 1 coach in the ACC was the Clemson Tigers head coach, Dabo Swinney. The Tigers have been one of the best teams in the nation for a long time, and it was clear he was going to have that top spot for ACC head coaches.
Following Swinney at the No. 2 spot was Brohm. The Cardinals' head coach has proved that he is an elite coach and has quickly elevated this program to the next level. Last season, the Cardinals were the only team in the nation to score 24 points or more in every game and had a top-25 offense.
"Brohm makes programs better. Western Kentucky, Purdue and now Louisville greatly improved under his guidance. He’s produced eight winning seasons in 11 years, and that’s a bigger compliment when you consider he coached Purdue for six seasons. His steady hand for offense translates from school to school and conference to conference."Blake Toppmeyer
The Cardinals are quickly emerging as one of the biggest threats in the ACC as Louisville defeated Clemson for the first time in program history and lost in a thrilling 52-45 game to Miami. The Cardinals are right at the top of the ACC and need to attack the transfer portal more to compete for their first ACC title.

SMU's Rhett Lashlee came in behind Brohm at No. 3 after making the College Football Playoffs last season, and then Florida State's Mike Norvell and Miami's Mario Cristobal made the last two spots in Toppmeyer's top five.
Brohm will look to continue this climb and now try to put the Cardinals in the conversation for that ACC title. Louisville will have to play SMU, Clemson, and Miami this year, but if the Cardinals can manage to survive those three games, Brohm's Cards' should be at the top of the ACC.
