Louisville football just landed its fifth 4-star commitment of the 2027 class, after Ja’Hyde Brown committed to the Cardinals over Kentucky and many other Power Four programs. Brown is the Cardinals' fourth in-state commitment, as he followed 4-star Allen Evans, 4-star Jordan Haskins, and 3-star Sebastian Blue to the Cardinals.
Kentucky looks like little brother for displaying Lamar Jackson signed Heisman Trophy
Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow are dominating the state of Kentucky early on and are creating something special with this 2027 class. Louisville has already landed more 4-stars in the 2027 class than their 2026 class, and they aren’t showing any signs they will slow down anytime soon.
247Sports' Jody Demling reported shortly after Louisville landed Brown that the Cardinals will host two more elite in-state recruits today in Malachi Brown and Elijah Burns-Crump.
After landing a commitment from WR Ja'Hyde Brown earlier today, Louisville is expected to host what I would say are two of the top three uncommitted prospects in the state this afternoon at practice @304Mali @eburnscrump32

Louisville football set to host Malachi Brown and Elijah Burns-Crump
Brown is ranked among the top in-state recruits, as the 4-star defensive lineman ranks No. 244 in the 2027 class, No. 29 among defensive linemen, and No. 4 from the state of Kentucky. The dominant defensive lineman has received over 18 offers from elite programs such as Ohio State, Tennessee, Alabama, Miami, and many other Power Four programs.
Louisville is in a heated recruiting battle with Will Stein and Kentucky as On3 Sports gives the Wildcats the slight edge for the 4-star defensive lineman, with Kentucky having a 22.7 percent chance of landing Brown’s commitment, and Louisville right behind with a 19.9 percent chance. Brown visited Louisville for an unofficial visit in November, and Brohm and Marrow took a visit to the 4-star earlier this year.
Moving on to Burns-Crump, the elite safety is teammates with Louisville’s 4-star commitment Allen Evans. The two attend and play for Trinity High School, where Burns-Crump earned 56 total tackles, 28 solos, three Interceptions, including two which returned for a touchdown, four tackles for a loss, one fumble recovered for a touchdown, and 0.5 sacks.
The Cardinals' class currently ranks No. 8 in the 2027 class, and with Louisville just earning a big-time commitment from Brown over Kentucky, and with two more big-time recruits set to visit Louisville this afternoon, Brohm and Marrow are proving this class is poised to make history.
