Kentucky looks like little brother for displaying Lamar Jackson signed Heisman Trophy

Louisville football has owned the state of Kentucky over the past two seasons under Jeff Brohm, outscoring the Wildcats 82-14, including last year's dominant 41-0 win inside L&N Stadium. The Cardinals and the Wildcats are known to not like one another, and after Vince Marrow left Kentucky for Louisville and Will Stein, a former Louisville player, left Oregon to coach at Kentucky, it feels like this rivalry is only getting richer.

But recently, Kentucky has gone viral for hosting one of the best recruits in the 2027 recruiting class, but not so much because Jake Nawrot visited Kentucky, but because he posted a picture next to a Heisman Trophy. And when Louisville fans look at the picture and zoom in, they can’t help but laugh because one of the Wildcats' top prospects is posting a picture with a replica Heisman Trophy of Lamar Jackson.

The age-old question is, why is a Lamar Jackson Heisman Trophy in Lexington? And well, we aren’t quite sure why, but it is most likely an old Louisville coach, which is funny because that means the Wildcats are shining a light on Louisville and the Cardinals' best player of all time, and now the No. 2-ranked QB in the 2027 recruiting class posted a picture with Lamar Jackson’s Heisman Trophy.

According to Chris Beasmore, Nawrot stated he didn’t realize it was Jackson’s Heisman Trophy. But what might be worth noting to the 4-star recruit is that Kentucky has never earned a Heisman winner. It is certainly odd for a current Kentucky coach, or whoever it is, to have a signed Heisman Trophy of their rival's best player, but it makes it seem like the Cardinals are certainly dominating the state at the moment.

And now, just hours ago, Louisville has entered the race for Nawrot, as the Cardinals and Brohm have officially extended an offer. The 4-star quarterback is ranked No. 40 overall and the No. 2 quarterback in the 2027 cycle. While Kentucky is leading the race for the 4-star quarterback, maybe getting a look at the Cardinals' Heisman Trophy winner will have Louisville on his mind, and for him to visit the quarterback whisperer, Jeff Brohm.

In the 2027 recruiting class, Louisville is ranked as a consensus top-15 class, having landed four 4-star recruits, including two of the top four recruits from Kentucky. The star of Louisville’s 2027 class is Allen Evans, the 4-star cornerback and Louisville native who ranks as the No. 2 recruit from Kentucky and as high as No. 69 in the 2027 cycle.

The Cardinals and Wildcats rivalry continues to get more intense as the years pass, but Kentucky shining a light on Louisville’s GOAT was not on many fans' BINGO cards this offseason.
