Louisville football is coming off another major recruiting weekend, and as a result, the fans saw the Cardinals have a huge Tuesday. The Cardinals and Jeff Brohm landed two 2027 commitments Tuesday evening, giving the Cards a major boost in the recruiting team rankings.

Louisville football lands 3-star Keontay Toomer and 3-star Kyson Mallard
Mallard is a former Georgia Bulldog commit but decommitted from Kirby Smart and the 2025 SEC champs earlier this year. He then reopened his recruiting process, which ultimately led him to visit Louisville on May 29 and commit to the Cardinals on Tuesday evening.
The 6-foot-5, 210-pound interior offensive lineman ranks as high as No. 725 in the 2027 recruiting rankings and No. 39 at the interior offensive lineman position. The Georgia native received over 20 offers from big-time programs such as Georgia, Auburn, Florida State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Pitt, South Carolina, and others.
On top of Louisville’s visit, he also visited North Carolina State on May 8, Pitt on May 28 and Georgia Tech on June 5. With all ACC schools also extending him offers, it appears this became an ACC battle, and Brohm and Marrow came out on top with the major recruiting victory.
Brohm also earned a commitment from the 3-star safety, Keontay Toomer. The Cardinals extended their offer to the Indianapolis native back in February of this year, and just received an official visit from Toomer this past weekend, June 5.
Toomer received over 16 offers, including from Purdue, Cincinnati, and Missouri, and he also visited or has visits lined up with those schools before ultimately making his decision. He visited Purdue first back on May 29, then has visits lined up with Cincinnati this weekend on June 12 and with Missouri on June 19.
In addition to offers from those three schools, he also received offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, and others. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound safety ranks as high as No. 856 in the nation and No. 73 among safeties in the 2027 recruiting cycle. He attends Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis and ranks as high as the No. 14 prospect from the state of Indiana.
Toomer had a dominant junior season at Ben Davis High School, recording 95 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. He now marks as the Cards' second safety commitment in the 2027 recruiting class, joining 4-star Kentucky native Jordan Haskins.
The Cardinals now have 18 commitments in the 2027 recruiting class and are looking to make history with this latest recruiting surge. The Cardinals, as of now, are ranked No. 22 in the nation, which would be the highest-ranked recruiting class in program history if Louisville can stay there.
