Louisville basketball fans have been waiting for today for a good amount of time now, as the Cardinals and their fans will learn at the end of the day if their glaring No. 1 target will return to college basketball and officially be available or if he will stay in the NBA Draft.
Jeff Goodman gives Louisville basketball fans a massive Milan Momcilovic update
Milan Momcilovic is the No. 1 name college basketball fans are keeping a close eye on today, which marks the NBA draft deadline. Louisville has been linked to Momcilovic in the early stages of his recruiting process, and now, with the NBA draft deadline just about 12 hours away, all eyes are on the 5-star transfer.
Milan Momcilovic must make NBA Draft decision today
With Pat Kelsey and Louisville looking to snap their drought without a Final Four appearance and an NCAA Title, Momcilovic quickly emerged as a dream target. The Cardinals fans made it clear they would like to add an elite 3-point shooter or a power forward, and Momcilovic is the perfect match.

Notable stay-or-go decisions to watch:
Koa Peat
Meleek Thomas
Amari Allen
Tounde Yessoufou
Tyler Tanner
Milan Momcilovic
Jeremy Fears
Andrej Stojakovic
Billy Richmond
However, he is coming off a dominant season and has made it clear that his dream is to stay in the draft if he receives a strong promise from an NBA team. But it sounds like the 5-star transfer might be leaning toward returning to college basketball, as the rumored asking price for Momcilovic is around $5-6 million, and after Jeff Goodman asked 10 NBA executives what they believe Momcilovic should do, all 10 voted to return to college basketball.
And so now it comes down to today. The 5-star transfer would immediatley be the No. 1 transfer available if he does return, and it appears Louisville would be right there in the mix. Other teams linked with Momcilovic include Kentucky, St. John’s, and Arizona, but Louisville fans should expect more to join if he announces his return today.
Goodman stated last week that Louisville is one of the frontrunners, which makes the Cardinals even more invested in Momcilovic’s decision. The Cardinals' roster as it stands is already a Final Four contender, but if Momcilovic were to return to college basketball and Kelsey pulls off one last magic trick, Louisville would have a strong case to be ranked in the top five, maybe even the top three, when the season begins.
So, now Louisville fans will just wait. Momcilovic will have to announce whether he is staying in the draft or returning at some point today, and Louisville fans are anxiously awaiting the news.
