Louisville basketball still has a few spots available for its 2025-26 roster, and a few names have been floating around with the Cardinals.

Some of Louisville's top remaining targets are 5-star transfer Jamir Watkins from Florida State and 4-star transfer Baba Miller from FAU. The Cardinals faithful want to be all-in on these two transfers, but as of late, no news has emerged beyond rumors.

The Cardinals were reported to be in contact with a Kentucky native phenom, and a 4-star transfer from in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats, but it was just reported that this elite guard will transfer to Ole Miss, according to Joe Tipton.

Travis Perry was one of the top guard targets remaining in the portal. He was one of the best guards from Lyon County High School. The Kentucky native was ranked the No. 7 point guard in the class of 2024 and the No. 78 overall player.

Perry was a high school legend in Kentucky, as he has one of the best resumes in Kentucky high school basketball history. The new Ole Miss commit scored 5,481 career points, the most in Kentucky history and seventh-most in the nation. He is the only player from the state of Kentucky to score 5,000 points or more in high school, and his 712 3-pointers are the second-most made 3-pointers of all time.

As a senior, he averaged 32.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 4.7 steals per game. The Cardinals were reported to contact the guard almost immediately after he hit the transfer portal, but it appears Pat Kelsey and company came up short.

Perry was a 4-star transfer from Kentucky and would have been a massive addition to this elite backcourt. He is just a true freshman and would be a player for the future to play for Kelsey and the Cardinals. Perry was ranked as the No. 4 best guard available in the transfer portal and was the 23rd best combo guard that entered the portal.
