Louisville basketball is in full rebuild mode, as the Cardinals learned late Wednesday evening that the fifth Player will enter the Transfer Portal. It was reported that former USF transfer Kasean Pryor will enter the Transfer Portal after spending two seasons with the Cardinals, according to On3 Sports Joe Tipton.
Projected Louisville lineup with Flory Bidunga, Jackson Shelstad should terrify Duke
The power forward committed to Louisville with high expectations coming off a strong season with the USF Bulls, but Pryor suffered a torn ACL just seven games into the 2024-25 season, and never fully recovered. He missed the remainder of the 2024-25 season, and this past season, he saw less than 7 minutes per game and wasn’t a factor, as many fans had hoped.

Kasean Pryor hits the Transfer Portal for a fourth time
Pryor committed to Louisville after averaging career highs of 13.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals with the USF Bulls. He had an immediate impact with Kelsey and the Cards in his first year at Louisville, averaging 12.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, and 1.6 steals, but unfortunately, his season ended after just seven games when he tore his ACL against Oklahoma.
He then decided to return to Louisville and was expected to be a key piece in Kelsey’s frontcourt his second season with the Cardinals, but the power forward never regained his role and earned only sporadic minutes, averaging just 6.5 minutes per game in the 2025-26 season.
Pryor will now try to earn a seventh year and has entered the Transfer Portal for the fourth time in his career, after starting at Boise State for two years, then transferring to Northwest Florida State, then transferring to USF, and then to Louisville. The Cardinals fans expected Pryor to enter the portal as the senior participated in Senior Day activities.
Pryor is now the fifth Cardinal to enter the portal, with all five being forwards. The 6-foot-10 power forward joins Vangelis Zougris and Mouhamed Camara in the portal, while Khani Rooths recently committed to Oklahoma, and Sananda Fru recently committed to Marquette.
