Louisville basketball and Pat Kelsey continue to make a ton of noise this offseason, as the Cardinals just landed their seventh commitment this offseason via the Transfer Portal. Kelsey and Louisville are the latest team to earn a commitment following the  “five-for-five” rule, as Louisville landed a huge splash from UNC star Seth Trimble.

Trimble played all four collegiate seasons with North Carolina and then played this offseason with the Washington Wizards in the NBA Summer League. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard is a former 4-star recruit out of high school and is coming off his best year after averaging 14.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 47 percent from the field.

Now, Louisville’s NCAA Title hopes just rose, as FanDuel updated its odds and the Cardinals fans saw their odds move up.

Louisville basketball jumps in National Title odds

Leading up to Trimble’s commitment, Louisville had the ninth-highest odds to win the National Championship at +2500, but since Trimble committed, the Cardinals' odds have now risen. Louisville has the seventh-highest odds to win the National Championship this upcoming season following the huge addition of Trimble, as the Cards now have +2200 odds, according to FanDuel.

The Cardinals have added 10 players this offseason and have the No. 1 Transfer Portal class. This offseason, Kelsey landed two transfers who ranked inside the top 20, including 5-star Flory Bidunga, who ranked No. 1 overall, and 4-star Jackson Shelstad, who ranked No. 18 overall.

The Cardinals also added 4-star transfer and former 5-star Karter Knox, 4-star transfer Alvaro Folgueiras, 4-star De'Shayne Montgomery, and 7-foot-5 Gabe Dynes. On top of the Cardinals portal additions, Kelsey landed his second straight 5-star recruit out of high school in Obinna Ekezie Jr., as well as 4-star Boyuan Zhang and 3-star Isaac Ellis.

This Cardinals roster is loaded with talent after adding Trimble. They have a deep backcourt with Shelstad, Adrian Wooley, London Johnson, and now Trimble. This frontcourt is the best it's been since Kelsey arrived, with Bidunga, Ekezie, Folgueiras, and Knox, and now the Cardinals have real Final Four dreams and expectations.

The Cardinals haven’t been to the Final Four since they won the whole thing in 2013, but now, with the addition of Trimble, FanDuel and others are making it clear this Cardinals team should be one of the top teams in college basketball this season. It is an exciting time to be a Louisville Cardinal fan, and now the countdown to the season is officially on.
