Louisville football received massive news this week as 5-star native Kellen Hall scheduled a game-day visit with the Cardinals. Hall is ranked as high as No. 12 in the nation and the No. 3 defensive linemen, while also ranking as the consensus best Kentucky native in the 2028 recruiting class.

The Louisville native is immediately Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow's No. 1 target in the 2028 recruiting class, but Louisville will have to go up against some big-time schools as Ohio State, Alabama, and Tennessee all are receiving game-day visits as well.

Louisville football WR hidden gems

The Cardinals' wide receiver room is emerging as one of their deepest and most talented rooms for the 2025 season. Louisville had some questions with this unit, but Brohm went out and got some serious talent from the Transfer Portal, making it severely underrated entering the 2025 season.

While Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy are getting all the spotlight, there is a battle going on for that WR3 spot. Deion Branch has seen multiple receivers step up and stand out in fall camp, making it a hard decision for the former Super Bowl MVP. So, here are three under-the-radar wide receivers who could explode for Louisville in 2025.

Elite 2026 RB on flip watch

Brohm and Marrow must watch out as one of their 2026 commitments recently entered the nation's flip watch after Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes extended an offer to 3-star running back Lekhy Thompkins. It was reported that the running back received an offer from Sanders earlier this week after he made his debut with IMG Academy, and will also make a visit to Colorado.

Thompkins has been committed to the Cardinals since May 2025 and is the only running back commitment in the Cardinals' 2026 recruiting class.

Louisville basketball's backcourt gets the praise it deserves

Louisville basketball has a lot of hype going into the 2025-26 season, and The Field of 68 host Rob Dauster might be the highest on the Cardinals out of everyone. Dauster went ahead and stated that Louisville will be a top 10 team the entire year, will make a deep postseason run, and when college basketball fans get back in March, it will be the Cardinals with the best backcourt, not Houston or Purdue.

While the Cardinals fans have been saying this all offseason, this bold and hot take revealed truly just how good the Cardinals' backcourt is going to be. Louisville's backcourt will be highlighted, of course, by Mikel Brown Jr., but Pat Kelsey went out and got the two biggest names from the portal in Dauster's eyes in Isaac McKneely and Ryan Conwell, and got one of the best true sophomores in Adrian Wooley.
