The Transfer Portal is officially open, and over the weekend, Pat Kelsey learned that a former 4-star commitment will enter the portal. It was reported on Saturday that Mouhamed Camara plans to enter the portal, making him the Cardinals' third forward and third former 4-star to leave Louisville.

Louisville basketball has already learned that Sananda Fru and Khani Rooths will also enter the Transfer Portal. Camara never played in a regular-season game for Louisville, as he was redshirted his freshman season. Louisville fans were hoping the 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward would return to the Cardinals, as he has tremendous upside and is an athletic defender. Before he arrived in Louisville, he played in multiple international events with the NBA Academy Africa, averaging 10.7 points while shooting 60 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc. On top of scoring, he averaged  7.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.8 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game.

Jeff Brohm and Louisville football lands in 4-star's final four

Moving on to Jeff Brohm and Louisville football, the Cardinals continue to turn heads with their 2027 class. Louisville landed in elite 4-star cornerback Miles Brown’s final four and earned an official visit. Louisville will be going head-to-head with its in-state rivals, the Kentucky Wildcats, as well as Tennessee and Ole Miss.

Brown will visit all four schools this summer, starting with Ole Miss on May 29, then his home state, Tennessee, on June 5, Louisville on June 12, and finishing with Kentucky on June 19. The 4-star cornerback ranks No. 379 in the 2027 cycle, No. 41 among cornerbacks, and No. 16 among recruits from Tennessee. The Cardinals' 2027 recruiting class is trending toward making program history, currently ranking No. 9 in the nation, and Louisville has never had a class ranked higher than No. 24.

Louisville's top targets after Mouhamed Camara enters the portal

Bouncing back to basketball, with Camara entering the Transfer Portal, Louisville basketball will look to try and not only replace the former 4-star commit, but Rooths and Fru as well. Louisville is expected to be heavily involved in the Transfer Portal again, as On3 Sports reported the Cardinals will spend around $8-10 million this offseason for the second straight season.

So, with Louisville losing the majority of its 2025-26 roster this offseason, Kelsey will have a big two weeks ahead of him. The Cards will have to rebuild their roster and try to replace at least eight of their top-10 rotational players from this past season, and Camara, who would likely have earned some minutes this upcoming season. The Transfer Portal has already seen over 800 players enter, and with Camara entering, we listed three transfers Louisville should target this offseason.
