Louisville football secured its 16th commitment on Monday afternoon after Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals landed the in-state recruit, Darrian Tomlin. The Cardinals have made it clear they want to prioritize their home state as Tomlin marks it as the No. 5 commitment from Kentucky.

The under-the-radar Kentucky native is coming off an eye-popping season with Woodford County High School, where he was a two-way athlete. On defense, Tomlin collected 19 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss, while on offense, he was their star running back, rushing for a dominant 1,550 yards and 19 touchdowns, and catching 19 passes for 238 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Tomlin and the 16 Cards' commitments have Louisville ranked No. 25 in the nation. Brohm and Vince Marrow are looking to make history with this recruiting class, as the Cardinals have never earned a top 20 class in the nation and have only secured two top 25 classes in program history.

Louisville football fans will love recent projections from this computer model

With June already here, that means Louisville football is one month closer, as the Cardinals' first game of the season is now just 89 days away. The Cardinals have high expectations for the 2026 season, as this roster truly has what it takes to shock many college football fans and go on a run in the ACC this season.

Kenneth Massey's model has emerged as one of the more credible models recently, and the credible computer model updated its projections for the Cardinals not too long ago. And when Louisville fans looked at these projections, they quickly raised an eyebrow and absolutely loved what they saw.

The computer model has Louisville losing their massive first game against Ole Miss, but then rattling off 11 straight wins and ending the regular season 11-1. The Cards are favored in every game except the Ole Miss showdown, including their three biggest road games at North Carolina State, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky.

Louisville basketball battling Kentucky and others for 5-star CJ Rosser

As for the Louisville basketball update, the Cardinals are trending as one of the top teams in the recruiting battle for 5-star power forward and the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit, CJ Rosser. Louisville is expected to battle some of the nation’s top teams for Rosser, as ON3 Sports’ Jamie Shaw provided an update on Rosser, and Louisville was among those teams, along with Arkansas, Kentucky, Miami, Alabama, and North Carolina.

Louisville, Kentucky, North Carolina, and North Carolina State have all earned unofficial visits so far, and with the Wildcats recently landing 5-star recruit Ryan Hampton, the Cards fans are hoping Pat Kelsey and company make sure Kentucky and Mark Pope don’t land Rosser. The 5-star forward is an elite scorer who averaged over 16 points per game this past season at Southeastern Prep, and with Louisville landing his former teammate, Obinna Ekezie Jr., Cardinals fans hope these two will reunite in a red and black uniform.
