Louisville football recently was able to flip a 3-star linebacker from West Virginia over to the Cardinals after they hosted him for a gameday visit in Week 1 against Eastern Kentucky. The former Mountaineer commit decided to flip his commitment to Louisville Sunday afternoon, and is now the 23rd commitment in the 2026 recruiting class.

Taj Powell is ranked as high as No. 908 in the nation and the No. 73 linebacker in the 2026 recruiting class. The Cardinals hosted over 80 recruits in Week 1 and are now hoping a few more will follow after this big-time flip by Vince Marrow.

Louisville basketball's crucial 4-star visit later this month

Louisville basketball recently learned they will no longer be in the running for 4-star and the No. 1 center in the 2026 recruiting class, Arafan Diane. The Cardinals now must turn to someone else to heavily recruit in this position, and it is clear they are going to turn to Josh Irving.

The No. 6-ranked center in the 2026 class has a crucial visit with Pat Kelsey and the Cardinals this month on September 19. The weekend visit will be essential if Louisville wants to land its first commitment of the 2026 class, and Irving is emerging as a top target as he ranks as a top 50 prospect in the cycle.

Chucky Hepburn returns to Louisville for offseason workout

Louisville basketball is gearing up for its upcoming season, and one familiar face keeps popping back in town for offseason workouts. Former ACC Defensive Player of the Year and former fan favorite Chucky Hepburn recently showed up on Louisville's social media page, where he was seen smiling and working out with the Cardinals yet again.

Hepburn is a true leader for his former team, as he now is with the Toronto Raptors. However, all offseason, he was seen working out and practicing with the Louisville team. Hepburn returning to the Cardinals multiple times this offseason doesn't just make it seem like he is helping his former team out and being a leader, but it also shows how tight this program is and how important culture is to Pat Kelsey.
