Louisville basketball's offseason isn't quite done just yet, as head coach Pat Kelsey and his staff must find a few more players to fill out the roster. Currently, the Cardinals have landed three players from the portal, but that is what Kelsey's plan was the whole time.
The Cardinals chose quality over quantity this offseason and landed three of the top 23 players in the transfer portal, ranking them No. 3 in the highest-quality transfers on average, per Evan Miyakawa.
Last year, the Cards brought in zero 5-stars, four 4-stars, and seven 3-stars. This offseason, he brought in one 5-star and two 4-stars and is ranked No. 3 in the nation for his offseason. The quality over quantity method worked perfectly, as Louisville now has the sixth-best odds to win the National Championship.

Louisville basketball schedule update
In other basketball news, the Cardinals continue to learn more about their 2025-26 schedule. Louisville learned they will play Kentucky, Tennessee, Memphis, Cincinnati, and SMU twice this upcoming season.
There were reports looming around that Louisville and St. John's were in talks to play each other in a home-and-home series over the next couple of seasons, but fans learned that it won't happen this upcoming season.
Louisville's athletic director, Josh Heird, announced on a local radio show that Kelsey and he both are working to make it happen, as the program wants a showdown with the Hall of Fame coach, Rick Pitino, but fans will have to wait for Pitino's massive return to KFC Yum! Center.

Louisville football ACC Championship odds
Jeff Brohm and his Cardinals are getting ready to prepare for their camps over the summer as the Cards' are getting closer and closer for their showdown with Eastern Kentucky on Aug. 30.
Louisville opens up with the third-best odds to win the ACC Title. The Cardinals currently have +650 odds to bring home their first ACC crown, and are only behind the Clemson Tigers (+145) and the Miami Hurricanes (+410), according to FanDuel.

Former Louisville football star frontrunner to land starting QB role
Former Louisville football star quarterback received high praise from NFL experts. Tyler Shough was drafted No. 40 overall by the New Orleans Saints and is now projected to be Kellen Moore's starting quarterback after Derek Carr retired.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the former Cardinals quarterback is projected to win the starting job, and Nick Underhill was left nearly speechless after leaving Shough's practice. Shough has already impressed many experts with multiple 'Oh My God' moments in the Saints minicamp, and the 25-year-old quarterback is off to a phenomenal start in his NFL career.
