Louisville football is taking on Georgia Tech this evening in a Week 10 showdown in Atlanta. The Cardinals offense has emerged as one of the nation's top units, ranking sixth in points per game. However, Jeff Brohm’s offense has taken a hit with a key injury, as it was reported earlier this week that star wide receiver Lawayne McCoy is expected to miss “an extended period,” according to William McDermott.
McCoy has emerged as one of the top receivers for the Cardinals, and Florida State transfer Lincoln Kienholz secured 25 catches for 513 yards and four receiving touchdowns. McCoy is dealing with a knee injury and is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game. However, with this report from McDermott, it would be a little surprising if the WR played in Atlanta.

Mikel Brown Jr. has huge game in Brooklyn Nets win
Earlier this week, Mikel Brown Jr. had a season-best and a new NBA-best game in his rookie season. Leading up to Wednesday night's showdown against the Hornets, Brown struggled to shoot at a high rate. However, that changed on Wednesday, as the former Cardinal had his best game yet.
The former 5-star freshman shot 54.5% from the field on 6-of-11 attempts, a season high in made field goals, and led the team to a season-high 18 points. Brown also shot an impressive 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, including multiple step-back 3-pointers that caught many Nets fans' eyes. The former Cardinal showcased why he was selected No. 6 overall Wednesday, as he was aggressive all night, not only scoring but creating open looks for his teammates. Brown also finished with four assists, three rebounds, one steal, and one block.

Pat Kelsey makes it clear what this Cards team mentality must be
Louisville takes on Morehead State this afternoon in its second game of the season. The Cardinals improved to 1-0 earlier this week by defeating Chattanooga 84-70. The Cardinals' win had its highs in the first half, but the second half was, well, “disappointing”, according to Kelsey.
Kelsey made it clear in his press conference that elite teams are consistent, and while this was only their first game of the season, it is important for this team to switch its mentality and to play harder when the ball is falling their way.
“Really good teams are consistent; regardless of if the ball is going in the hoop or not, they are still elite on defense and rebounding,” stated Kelsey.
