Louisville basketball must address its frontcourt this offseason
We will also touch on Jeff Brohm and his dominant run in the 2027 recruiting class, as the Louisville Cardinals got some good news from a couple of 4-stars earlier this week. So, let's get started.
Louisville basketball’s 2025-26 season came to an end on Saturday afternoon when the Cardinals lost to the Michigan State Spartans in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Louisville will now look ahead to the Transfer Portal, and the Cardinals fans make it clear Pat Kelsey has to address its frontcourt issues.
Last year, Louisville was consistently outmatched and undersized against these elite teams, going 1-8 against ranked teams and 0-7 against teams in KenPom’s top 20. Louisville's biggest area of need this offseason is a small forward to replace J’Vonne Hadley and Isaac McKneely, but he has to be a true small forward. A 6-foot-7 forward who can guard on the ball but can also be an offensive threat.

Louisville football gets big updates from multiple 4-stars
Louisville football is trending with a few players at the moment, but earlier this week, the Cardinals got some big updates from a couple of 4-stars. Louisville first heard from George Lammons Jr., who announced they made his final four and will now compete against  Auburn, Alabama, and Florida. Lammons ranks as high as No. 223 overall and No. 10 among tight ends.
The Cardinals also heard from 4-star cornerback Emerson Lewis and learned they are in his final six. The Cardinals will now face Arkansas, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, and Maryland in the next part of the 4-star recruiting process. Lewis ranks as high as No. 305 in the 2027 cycle and No. 36 among cornerbacks.

Four Cardinals immediatley on transfer watch after Louisville's season ended
The Transfer Portal is two weeks away, and some players are beginning to announce their plans to enter their names into it. While there has been no Cardinal to enter his name in the portal just yet, there are definitely some players Louisville fans are keeping their eyes on.
The Transfer Portal will be open for just two weeks, from April 7 through April 21. Last year, Pat Kelsey did a good job of recruiting from within, losing only two players to the portal, and this year, hopefully, he can do the same. One name many fans are keeping a real close eye on is Khani Rooths. The former 4-star commitment hasn’t had consistent minutes, and some fear he will enter the transfer portal and start a new chapter.
So, with Louisville’s season over, we broke down four players who are on transfer watch after the Cardinals’ NCAA Tournament exit.
