Louisville football is having a big start to their week for the 2027 recruiting class, as the Cardinals first heard that they made an elite 4-star tight end, George Lammons Jr., a final four, and they also learned yesterday that they made another 4-star’s final six. Louisville’s 2027 recruiting class is off to a red-hot start as it ranks inside 247Sports top 10, and a big reason is the Cardinals defensive additions.
Louisville football's early 2027 dominance is sending a loud national message
Louisville has four total 4-star commitments so far, including two Kentucky natives, 4-star cornerback Allen Evans and 4-star safety Jordan Haskins. Now Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow will try to land their third secondary 4-star in the 2027 cycle and their second 4-star cornerback, as Emerson Lewis recently gave Louisville a big update as they made the corners' final six.
Emerson Lewis puts Louisville in his final six
The Cardinals are one step closer to landing Lewis, as they learned yesterday that they were among six teams to move on in his recruiting process. Louisville will now go head-to-head with Arkansas, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, and Maryland.

Lewis is a 4-star recruit who ranks as high as No. 305 overall, No. 36 among cornerbacks, and No. 34 among Georgia natives. He has received over 19 offers so far, suggesting Louisville has already beaten out Power Four programs like Indiana, Auburn, South Carolina, Florida State, SMU, and many others.
The Cardinals will try to land their second elite 4-star cornerback in the 2027 cycle, as Evans is one of the top-ranked corners in the class at No. 69 overall and No. 10 among cornerbacks. Louisville will battle its in-state rival, Kentucky, as the Wildcats earned a visit last summer and will earn another one in April. Virginia Tech will also host him for a visit in April, and while the Cardinals don’t have a date set, Lewis stated he would like to visit all the schools before making his decision.
Louisville’s eight commitments right now have the Cardinals trending towards history as Brohm’s recruiting class ranks No. 8 in the nation. Louisville has never had a recruiting class rank inside the top 20, and if Brohm can stay red-hot and land Lewis to pair him up with Evans and Haskins, then this class will only continue to climb.
