Louisville football is experiencing a major recruiting surge, with the Cardinals landing four commitments in June. Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow are continuing to turn heads nationwide with their ability to recruit in this 2027 recruiting class, and the Cardinals fans are hoping they will hear more good news sooner rather than later from one of their top targets.

Predicting 2 Louisville football commits coming this week after huge recruiting surge

The Cardinals have had 27 recruits on campus over the past two weekends, and among them, multiple names stand out. Of those 27 visitors, Louisville has already earned three commitments, including from 4-star AJ Tillman Jr., who recently soared in 247Sports rankings to No. 128 in the 2027 recruiting rankings.

When looking at some recruits who visited and are still uncommitted, Kentucky native Dre'mail Carothers stands out. On3 Sports has Louisville as the slight favorite in its recent update, but it is in an ACC battle with Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Louisville football emerges as favorite for 3-star Dre'mail Carothers

Following Louisville’s recent visit, Carothers On3 Sports updated its team predictions for the Kentucky native QB, and the Cards fans got some good news. Louisville is the slight favorite for the 3-star quarterback as the Cardinals have a 36.5 percent chance of landing Carothers' commitment following his visit to Louisville.

However, he also visited North Carolina this summer, as the 3-star visited UNC the week before his visit to Louisville on May 29. So, with UNC also earning an official visit, On3 Sports has the Tar Heels right behind Louisville at 32.0 percent. And the other team in the race at the moment is USF, as the Bulls are scheduled to host an official visit this weekend, June 19.

Carothers has emerged as Brohm’s clear No. 1 quarterback target in the 2027 recruiting class. Louisville had a 4-star quarterback committed, but Jack Sorgi decommitted from Louisville and flipped his commitment to his father’s alma mater, Wisconsin. So, with Sorgi off to Wisconsin, Brohm and Louisville quickly extended an offer to Carothers and have now been strongly pushing for the 3-star QB.

Carothers ranks as high as No. No. 855 in the 2027 recruiting cycle, No. 37 among quarterbacks and No. 10 out of the recruits from Kentucky. He attends Owensboro Catholic High School, where he is coming off an impressive junior season, during which he threw for 4,001 yards and 49 touchdowns. He also rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown.

So, Louisville, as of right now, is the slight favorite in On3 Sports' eyes, but the Cards are the heavy favorite by any means and are currently in an ACC recruiting battle with the UNC Tar Heels.
