The Transfer Portal is just one week away, and the Cardinals are expected to be all-in for the third straight season. Louisville basketball had the third-highest graded Transfer Portal class a year ago, and while it wasn’t ranked in anyone’s top 25 two years ago, it added big players like J’Vonne Hadley and Chucky Hepburn, who helped take Louisville back to the Big Dance.

So, now the Cardinals are going to lose four starters at least, and depending on who enters the Transfer Portal, Pat Kelsey might even have to start from scratch. One key name Louisville fans are hoping Kelsey is looking to recruit is the 4-star sharpshooter, Tyler Lundblade.
However, if Louisville wants to be high on his list, the Cards have to work fast, as Tennessee appears to be gaining a lot of momentum.
Tennessee gaining momentum for 4-star SG Louisville fans would love
Lundblade is exactly what Kelsey and Louisville need this offseason. He is an elite 3-point shooter who has splashed over 100 3’s in each of the last two seasons with Belmont. The Cardinals know for a fact they will be without 3-point specialist Isaac McKneely and their team leader in made 3’s last season, Ryan Conwell.
So, with Louisville in dire need of someone who can shoot from beyond the arc and at a high rate, Lundblade emerged as a dream transfer target. However, On3 Sports reports that Tennessee is hosting Lundblade for an official visit starting Monday and lasting until Wednesday.

He reports Tennessee is “gaining momentum” and is a “team to watch” for Lundlade. The 4-star transfer originally played for TCU but, after not earning many minutes, transferred to Belmont, where his career took off.
In his two years with the Bruins, he made a total of 219 3-pointers while shooting an impressive 44 percent from beyond the arc. In his first year, he made 104 3’s while shooting an astounding 48 percent from downtown, and followed it up this past season with 188 3’s while shooting 40.6 percent from beyond the arc.
The Cardinals need an off-ball shooter who is a threat from beyond the arc, and Lundblade is the Cardinals fans' dream target. He made 3.6 3’s per game last year and 3.2 per game the year prior. The 4-star transfer averaged 15.2 points on 43 percent from the field, and in the 2024-25 season, he averaged 12.4 points on 49.2 percent from the floor.
Louisville lives and dies from beyond the arc, and the Cardinals will have to find a sharpshooter like Lundblade who is a major threat from the 3-point range. The Cardinals fans hope Louisville is in the race for Lundblade if the asking price isn’t too high, as he emerges as someone who would fit perfectly in Louisville’s system.
