Louisville football fans got some more recruiting updates earlier this week as the Cardinals' 2027 commitment received excellent news from Rivals. Louisville landed its first 2027 commitment back in June after Jack Sorgi took a visit to the university, and now the Cardinals are thrilled to see their hidden gem receive extreme high praise midway through his junior season.
Rivals recently updated their 2027 recruiting rankings, and one of the biggest risers on their updated rankings was the Louisville recruit. The Cardinals' faithful saw Sorgi skyrocket up the rankings, where he was previously unranked, and now he is a 4-star commitment and a top-170 recruit.

Louisville football's 2027 commit named one of Rivals biggest risers
Sorgi is the son of former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jim Sorgi, and through his first three seasons of high school football, Jeff Brohm has found his hidden gem once again. Sorgi has thrown for 2,383 passing yards on a 58.9 completion percentage and 25 touchdowns.
The junior quarterback is off to a hot start in his first nine games of the 2025 season. He is now ranked No. 168 in the nation and is a 4-star recruit, having been previously unranked by Rivals.

It will be crucial for Brohm and Vince Marrow to keep Sorgi committed to Louisville, as the Cardinals' commitment will likely begin to garner some offers and attention after these updates. Similar to Briggs Cherry, who skyrocketed up the rankings and earned looks from Ohio State and others, Brohm must find a way to keep Sorgi's commitment.
Sorgi will join Cherry in the quarterback room in 2027, as Cherry is a 2026 commitment. Brohm and Marrow have been able to unearth some hidden gems in these two quarterbacks who started as unranked or 3-star recruits, but after gaining exposure, they skyrocketed up the rankings and became top quarterbacks in their respective classes.
