Brown was originally committed to Indiana but recently decommitted from the Hoosiers, opened up his recruiting process, and is now considering Louisville as one of the top landing spots. The Cardinals are in a heated recruiting battle with Kentucky, but ahead of the announcement, On3 Sports continues to give Louisville the edge over the Wildcats.
4-star WR Ja'Hyde Brown will announce his commitment today
Brown is ranked as high as a 4-star recruit in the 2027 recruiting class, No. 409 overall, No. 49 among wide receivers, and the seventh-best recruit out of Kentucky. After Brown decommitted from Indiana, Louisville turned up the heat on the Louisville native, bringing him on campus multiple times, and now, On3 Sports gives Louisville a dominant chance of landing his commitment.
On3 Sports recently updated its prediction, and Louisville has a dominant 96.8 percent chance of landing Brown’s commitment the day of his announcement, with Kentucky behind Louisville at 1.2 percent.

But leading up to today, Brown has visited Kentucky as well, and the Wildcats aren’t out of this race. So, today will be a big day for Brohm and Will Stein as the two rivals will try to go head-to-head to land one of the top in-state recruits.
Brown is a dynamic playmaker for the Christian Academy of Louisville, logging 98 receptions for 1,556 yards and 24 touchdowns. The Cardinals have already landed two of the top five in-state recruits and three of the top 10, and if they are able to secure Brown’s commitment later today, it would be another big-time splash for Brown’s 2027 recruiting class.
The Cardinals are trending to make history with this dominant start to the 2027 recruiting class. Louisville has never had a class ranked in the top 20, and as of now, it is ranked No. 8 in 247Sports' 2027 Recruit Football Team Rankings.
