Louisville football is all-in right now in the 2027 recruiting class, and the Cardinals are back in the conversation for a 4-star wide receiver. Recently, Louisville struck out on a Louisville native and one of the top recruits in the state, Ja’Hyde Brown, but just this morning, the 4-star wideout decommitted from Indiana, immediately raising eyebrows from the Cardinals fans.
Louisville football's new No. 1 target is clear after 4-star Jordan Haskins update
Brown committed to the Indiana Hoosiers in January, but after a recent visit to Louisville, the 4-star wide receiver decommitted from the 2025 National Champions. The Cardinals are gaining all the momentum after a recent visit, and On3 Sports gives Louisville encouraging updates after he decommitted from the Hoosiers.

Louisville football in prime position after 4-star WR suddenly decommits
Before Brown committed to Indiana on January 10, he updated his recruiting list to 10 schools. Louisville was one of those 10 programs, as they were in a recruiting battle with Kentucky, Alabama, Auburn, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, Oregon State, Maryland, and Indiana. Now that Brown has decommitted from Indiana, Louisville is the heavy favorite and is gaining all the momentum.
On3 Sports gives Louisville a dominant 96.8 percent chance of earning his commitment after he left Indiana, with Kentucky trailing at 1.2 percent. Brown recently took a visit to Kentucky over the weekend, and his father is reportedly on campus this week, so the Wildcats definitely aren’t out of the conversation, but as of right now, On3 Sports is sending a loud message that Louisville is the dominant frontrunner after this morning’s update.
Brown ranks as high as No. 408 in the 2027 recruiting class, No. 49 among wide receivers, and No. 7 out of the state of Kentucky. The local 4-star wide receiver holds over 27 offers after collecting 98 catches for 1,556 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns for the Christian Academy of Louisville.
Louisville has already landed four 4-star commitments, with two of them being Kentucky natives in Allen Evans and Jordan Haskins. Brohm and Vince Marrow are making it clear they want to dominate the state of Kentucky in the 2027 recruiting class, and with Brown now available, it appears Louisville is the team to beat for the 4-star wide receiver.
