Louisville football continues to take over the 2027 recruiting class, as Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow show no signs of slowing down. Last night, the Cardinals earned their eighth commitment in the 2027 recruiting class after Kentucky native and 4-star 2027 recruit Jordan Haskins announced his commitment to the University of Louisville.
Louisville football lands another local 4-star as Jeff Brohm, Vince Marrow stay hot
The Cards have now secured five 4-star commitments already, and Marrow is making it clear the Cardinals are “Not done yet.” Louisville is trending toward a historic 2027 recruiting class, as its eight commitments are ranked in 247Sports' top five, and the Cardinals have never had a top-20 recruiting class in program history, with the best being 2023, when it ranked No. 23 in the nation.
After Haskins announced his commitment to the Cardinals, Louisville fans are quickly beginning to recruit their next 2027 recruit, and when looking at their big board, the Cardinals have a glaring new No. 1 target after Haskins committed.
Louisville football new top target must be 4-star Malachi Brown
Louisville is looking to dominate and take over the state of Kentucky in the 2027 recruiting class, and after Haskins announced his commitment to the Cardinals, it is clear that Louisville must go all-in and try to get 4-star Malachi Brown next.
Louisville has now earned two of the top five recruits from Kentucky in this 2027 cycle, as the Cardinals secured the state’s second-best recruit commitment in Allen Evans, and Haskins ranks No. 5 in the state. The Cardinals are trying to build a lethal defense from within the state, with Evans a lockdown cornerback and Haskins an elite safety. Now, Louisville will look to add a dominant defensive lineman in Brown.
The 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive lineman has collected over 16 offers from powerhouse programs like Alabama, Ohio State, Miami, Tennessee, and others. He ranks as high as No. 245 in the 2027 cycle, No. 29 among defensive linemen, and No. 4 among Kentucky recruits.
Louisville hosted him for an unofficial visit in November, and recently Brohm and Marrow made a trip to Brown in late January. The Cardinals extended their offer to the 4-star over the summer in June and are among the top favorites according to On3 Sports.
Right now, On3 Sports gives Kentucky the slight edge with a 25.1 percent chance of earning Brown’s commitment, but Louisville is right behind at 21.9 percent, and Ohio State is behind the Cardinals at 18.8 percent. Purdue is gaining momentum, having secured an official visit from Brown this spring, shortly after extending an offer on February 5.
The Cards are looking to dominate the state of Kentucky, and after already landing Evans and Haskins, Louisville has a clear new No. 1 target on its 2027 recruiting class big board, and that's the Corbin High School star defensive lineman, Malachi Brown.
