Louisville football just added two more wide receivers from the Transfer Portal as the Cardinals landed former 4-star recruit out of high school and Florida State transfer LaWayne McCoy this morning, and Drake transfer Jackson Voth.

Louisville continues to load up its wide receiver room as the Cardinals have now landed five wide receivers this offseason, as Voth and McCoy will join Vanderbilt transfer Tre Richardson, and Kentucky transfers Hardley Gilmore IV and Montavin Quisenberry. Entering the offseason, Louisville fans knew the Cardinals had to address their thin wide receiver room as Jeff Brohm lost Chris Bell, Caullin Lacy, and their top seven wide receivers from the 2025 season.

The Cardinals' wide receiver depth gets a big boost over the past 24 hours with the addition of McCoy and Voth, making this offense even more explosive.

Of the Cardinals' two newest additions, the Florida State transfer and former 4-star recruit is one that Louisville fans can’t stop talking about. McCoy is an elite athlete who was one of the top recruits in the 2024 recruiting class, ranked as high as No. 146 overall and ranked as the No. 6 athlete.

He earned over 22 offers out of high school and committed to Florida State over Kentucky, Penn State, Ole Miss, Miami, and others. He logged 27 catches for 616 yards and seven touchdowns in his senior season. Before his senior season, he was an elite two-way player, hauling in 41 catches for 893 yards and 10 touchdowns in his sophomore and junior seasons while also playing defense, earning 31 tackles, five interceptions, five pass breakups, and three forced fumbles.

At Florida State, McCoy had a career season after earning seven starts and playing in 10 games. The former 4-star recruit caught 27 passes for 396 yards and three touchdowns, including his career game against Florida, where he logged six catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. McCoy commits to Louisville, ranked as high as No. 395 overall and No. 61 among wide receivers in the portal.

As for the Drake transfer, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver commits to Louisville, ranked No. 572 overall and the No. 86 wide receiver in the portal. Voth led the Bulldogs in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns after logging 51 catches for 600 yards and five touchdowns last season.
