Louisville football in fierce battle with Arkansas and Ole Miss for top QB prospect

The battle to get Kane Archer isn’t going to be an easy one though, Jeff Brohm and his Louisville Cardinals landed in Kane Archer's final seven schools.

Louisville Cardinals have had major success recently in recruiting quarterbacks, whether it is from transfer portal or from out of high school, as they got one of best quarterbacks, Miller Moss, this past transfer portal.

Cardinals 2025 class did not impress many, however they are trying to flip that around for 2026 and start bringing in some of the top players in the country. It seems that the struggles from the 2025 recruiting season has not impacted the Cardinals to go after some of the best players when it comes to the 2026 class.

That is why Louisville Cardinals landed in Kane Archer's final seven schools, according to Hayes Fawcett. The battle to get Archer isn’t going to be an easy one though, as in addition to Jeff Brohm and his Louisville Cardinals, the 4-star quarterback out of Greenwood, Ark. also listed Arkansas, Ole Miss, SMU, UCF, Appalachian State, and Missouri in his final seven.

Louisville football all-in on Kane Archer

Archer is listed as 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds and is a unanimous 4-star prospect. According to On3, he has a 90.0 rating, No. 10 ranked quarterback and is the No. 1 player out of the state of Arkansas, and is ranked 151 in the whole nation.

Archer was one of the top quarterbacks in the nation in his junior year as he threw 3,880 yards, 57 touchdowns, and only threw two interceptions, and on top it was at record breaking completion percentage of 81.5%

The dual-threat quarterback can also make plays with his legs as he has rushed for 1,583 yards and found the end zones 30 times in his three high school seasons so far.

Cardinals as of now are ranked 41st in the nation for their 2026 recruits, and ranked no. 9 in the ACC. Jeff Brohm and his staff currently have six total recruits, and are led by three-star prospect, Emoni Smith.

Louisville football finished the 2025 recruiting season ranked No. 67 class in the country according to On3, and finished No. 68 in country according to 247 Sports. On3 gave Louisville the worst recruiting class out of all the ACC, they ranked them 17 out of 17 in the ACC.

Jeff Brohm and his Louisville football team could use a big recruit like Kane Archer to help boos their recruiting. Cardinals spring football game is less than two months away and UofL kicks their 2025 season off on Aug. 30 against Eastern Kentucky.
