Louisville football is kicking off this afternoon against Eastern Kentucky in the Cardinals' season opener, and while fans cannot wait for the 2025 season to begin, a massive silver lining story is brewing.
The Cardinals are hosting one of their top recruits for this game, as the 4-star cornerback and Louisville native, Allen Evans, will be in attendance and taking an official visit this weekend. The elite corner back is ranked as high as No. 109 in the nation, the No. 13 cornerback in the 2027 recruiting class, and the second-best recruit out of Kentucky.
Evans is a playmaker on the defensive side, and he isn't just Louisville's top target in the 2027 recruiting class, but their top target for the future.

Louisville is currently the favorite to land Evans as of right now, but as he is trending as a top target for elite programs, the Cardinals are in the middle of a fierce recruiting battle for their glaring No. 1 target. Jeff Brohm landed two unofficial visits back in 2024 and will now earn his third visit today and his first official visit from the coveted 4-star.
Evans has earned over 14 offers, including from National Title contender teams such as Alabama. He has also visited top programs like Notre Dame and Georgia, but all of his visits have been unofficial until today, except for his visit to Louisville. The 6-foot-1, 185 defensive back has visited Kentucky twice as well, and has visited Georgia Tech, Western Kentucky, Indiana, and Vanderbilt once.

Evans brings the same excitement that Tyran Stokes brings to the game of basketball. He is a hometown kid who has a chance to truly elevate this program and take Louisville to the next level. Evans would draw in many 4-stars into the program if he played for the city he grew up in, and would be that first massive domino to fall Louisville's way.
The Cardinals are given a 33.9 percent chance of earning Evans' commitment, according to On3 Sports, which is the best percentage. After Louisville, their in-state rivals, the Kentucky Wildcats, have a 29.6 percent chance. With Louisville stealing Vince Marrow from Kentucky, the Cardinals fans can feel confident in beating out the Wildcats. However, it will be crucial to maintain momentum throughout Evans' junior season and earn his commitment over Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia, and others.
