Just now, local 4-star safety Jordan Haskins officially announced his decision to commit to Louisville, as the Cardinals secured their eighth commitment of the 2027 recruiting class, third commitment from a Kentucky native, and second 4-star commitment from Kentucky.

Louisville football has made it clear they want to dominate their home state, and that is certainly what they are doing in these early stages of the 2027 recruiting cycle. The Cardinals are creating a dominant secondary from local prospects, as Haskins will join 4-star recruit and No. 39 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, Allen Evans.

Jeff Brohm and Louisville football lands fifth 4-star commitment
Haskins is an elite defensive back who ranks No. 31 among cornerbacks and 30 among safeties. With Haskins' commitment, the Cardinals have now secured two of the top five recruits from Kentucky, as Evans is the No. 1 prospect and Haskins is the No. 4 prospect from the Cards' home state.
Haskins ranks as high as a 4-star recruit and ranks No. 240 in the 2027 recruiting class after earning 50 tackles, three interceptions, one sack, and one forced fumble. Louisville earned his commitment over in-state rival the Kentucky Wildcats, 2025-26 National Champs, Indiana Hoosiers, Illinois, Missouri, and Virginia Tech.
The Cardinals' 2027 class is trending to make history, as Louisville’s eight commitments rank as high as No. 5 in the nation, which would be the best recruiting class in program history. The highest Louisville has ever ranked is No. 23 in the nation, back in 2023, and after the Cardinals secured Haskins, it is clear Louisville isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
