Louisville football lands multiple 4-stars and more after massive recruiting weekend

Louisville has earned a total of three commitments so far after their massive recruiting weekend, as Josiah Hope committed to the Cardinals earlier on Sunday as well. Hope is regarded as a 4-star prospect and the fourth-best recruit from Kentucky.

Whyce and Lautar helped elevate the Cardinals' 2026 commitment class to crack 247Sports' top 10, as the Cardinals' 17 commitments are now ranked No. 9 in the nation.

Louisville is thrilled to earn a commitment from both of these players, while Whyce is a player who can be a difference-maker. During his junior season, he was able to stack his stat sheet, securing 64 total tackles, seven sacks, and earning 13.5 tackles for a loss. The 4-star defensive tackle is ranked as the No. 29 best defensive tackle in the class and the 13th-best prospect out of Ohio. Louisville earned his verbal commitment over some of the best programs in the nation, beating out Notre Dame, Tennessee, Auburn, Illinois, and also their in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats.

As for Lautar, he is a 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end regarded as the 46th-best prospect from Ohio and the 61st-best tight end in the 2026 cycle. The Cardinals were able to secure his verbal commitment over Kentucky, Wisconsin, Baylor, Pitt, and others.
