Louisville football is currently trying to etch the 2027 recruiting class into program history, but the Cardinals have had a slight setback this week. This past weekend, three Cardinals commitments took visits elsewhere, immediatley putting them on the Cardinals fans' flip watch.
Predicting 2 Louisville football commits coming this week after huge recruiting surge
Earlier this week, Louisville fans saw 3-star commitment Kaleb Exume decommit from the Cardinals following his visit to Boston College, making him the second Cardinal to decommit. Exume ranked as high as No. 1,414 in the 2027 recruiting class and No. 159 among defensive linemen.
However, now Louisville fans just learned another commitment decommitted after taking a visit this past weekend, as 3-star commitment Brooklyn Maxey just decommitted from Louisville and flipped his commitment to Kansas State.

Maxey is a 3-star two-way athlete who ranked as high as No. 878 in the 2027 recruiting class, No. 55 ATH, and is the 75th-ranked recruit among prospects native to Florida. The 3-star recruit is a highly recruited two-way athlete with over 27 offers from major programs like Alabama, Kentucky, Texas, Auburn, Penn State, and Wisconsin.
After committing to Louisville, Maxey canceled his trips to Alabama and Kentucky; however, he kept his visit to Kansas State. That trip to Manhattan this past weekend ultimately crushed the Cardinals' hopes of keeping Maxey a Cardinal, as he is now flipping his commitment to the Wildcats.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound wide receiver logged 76r receiving yards and seven touchdowns this past season on 42 catches, while also returning two kickoffs for a touchdown in his junior season at Carrollwood Day.
The Cardinals' 2027 recruiting class now ranks No. 28 overall in the 2027 Team Recruiting Rankings, per 247Sports, following this week's two decommitments. The Cardinals are down to 16 commitments in this class and have three decommitments, as former 4-star quarterback Jack Sorgi was the first Cardinal to decommit and flip his commitment, now committed to Wisconsin.
Other recruits on Louisville's flip watch are 3-star commitment Cornelius Tims III, as the Florida native visited Mississippi State this past weekend, and 4-star commitment Chuck Alexander, as he visited Wisconsin earlier this month.
Alexander is one of Louisville's top commitments in the 2027 cycle, as the 4-star ranks as high as No. 273 overall, No. 40 among wide receivers and No. 14 among recruits from Ohio.
